Yankee Alliance contract shows ROI of 401% for Glens Falls Hospital
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – March 28, 2013; Andover, MA
Glens Falls Hospital, making plans to invest a million dollars to replace a dozen deteriorating air handling units, realized a significant cost savings through a partnership with group purchasing organization Yankee Alliance.
According to Ron Zimmerman, VP/Plant Operations and Support Services with Glens Falls Hospital, “The poor condition of the 35 year-old units was challenging the hospital’s facilities team with frequent maintenance, unit downtime, inefficiency and a host of other issues.”
The Yankee Alliance contracting team proposed delaying the hospital’s costs significantly through a contract Yankee Alliance has with AQUIS. AQUIS specializes in the comprehensive refurbishment of aging mechanical air handling units. With innovative composite coating systems, the company’s services help extend the life of mechanical air handling units without the disruption and high cost associated with equipment replacement.
Yankee Alliance staff worked with Glens Falls Hospital operations to review and implement the AQUIS contract, providing a solution that would extend the life of the units and save thousands of dollars in maintenance per year. The refurbishment process was smooth and successful, with $689,980 realized in savings by extending the life of the Glens Falls Hospital air handling units for many more years.
“A big thank you to our operations team, materials management and our partners, Yankee Alliance and AQUIS,” said Zimmerman. “This significant savings was realized because all the partners worked together with great efficiency. We are pleased with the refurbishment and it is with great comfort knowing that Yankee Alliance continues to drive big savings for our hospital with new innovative contracts.”
