Yankee Alliance Awards Authentidate Contracts for Telehealth and Automated Hospital Discharge Solutions

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – MAY 6, 2014 Andover, MA and Berkeley Heights, NJ

Yankee Alliance, a leading healthcare group purchasing organization, and Authentidate Holding Corp. (Nasdaq: ADAT), a national provider of secure web-based software applications and telehealth products and services, today announce that Yankee Alliance has awarded Authentidate® two contracts for its Telehealth and Hospital Discharge Solutions.

The new contract will enable Authentidate to offer InscrybeMD® Telehealth solutions to Yankee Alliance’s membership and will focus on providing them with a solution to address the Affordable Care Act’s 30 day re-admission rule. The rule imposes substantial reimbursement penalties on hospitals that have an above average percentage of patients with specific medical conditions who are readmitted within 30 days of their initial discharge.

InscrybeMD Telehealth includes interactive voice recognition services and remote patient monitoring which allow patients to enjoy their daily routines while transmitting critical medical data to healthcare providers.  Automated reminders increase patients’ compliance with care plans, diets, medication schedules and follow-up physician visits.  These solutions are designed for patients who require ongoing management of chronic diseases, as well as a number of other patient illnesses and behavioral health conditions.

Yankee Alliance also awarded a contract to Authentidate for its Inscrybe Discharge Solution which is designed to significantly increase the efficiency of the patient discharge and post acute care placement process at hospitals. The system converts a manual, hours-long procedure, which traditionally involves the management of multiple paper files, phone-calls, faxes and related delays, to an automated on-line, electronic process.   Using the Inscrybe Discharge Solution, case managers can efficiently and rapidly locate the perfect facility for post discharge placement.  For patients being discharged to their homes but need home medical equipment or in-home care, the system places the referral for the required equipment or services.  Hospitals can expect to experience a meaningful improvement in patient satisfaction and the overall quality of patient care when they utilize the Inscrybe Discharge Solution.

“Authentidate is a nationally recognized provider of telehealth and discharge solutions with a proven track-record of helping hospitals to drive greater efficiencies and reduce costs. We couldn’t be more pleased to be partnering with them to provide their solutions to our member facilities,” commented Craig Shoukimas, Yankee Alliance’s Vice President, Contracting.

Ben Benjamin, Chief Executive Officer and President of Authentidate said, “We look forward to working with Yankee Alliance members to reduce overhead cost, hospital readmissions and improve patient outcomes with our proprietary solutions. Authentidate’s healthcare solutions are designed to improve the continuity of care for patients outside of the acute care setting and facilitate better care coordination for patients.  We are confident that our InscrybeMD Telehealth and Inscrybe Hospital Discharge solutions will help their members significantly.”
