Yankee Alliance awards members’ outstanding work in the supply chain

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – May 14, 2013; Andover, MA

This year at their 26th Annual Meeting and Reunion held at the Equinox Resort & Spa in Manchester, Vermont, Yankee Alliance recognized two individual members and five member facilities for their accomplishments in supply chain management.

The healthcare industry is experiencing more change, innovation and implementation today than it has ever seen.  These changes demonstrate that reducing cost is all the more imperative.   Yankee Alliance CEO Jim Oliver said, “Yankee Alliance members of all levels have one thing in common - the spirit to embrace change in healthcare and not only maintain, but to strengthen their focus on cost reduction.  We honor the seven award winners with thanks for their dedication to this goal.  I am proud of the example each of these facilities and individuals set for our industry.”

Each year Yankee Alliance recognizes top performing members for their achievements in reducing costs in the supply chain as well as their leadership, innovative thinking, sharing and collaboration with other members. 

This year’s winners, by category are: 

Savings - Awarded to the acute care facility with the greatest overall savings per patient day.

Winner, less than 100 beds:  St Joseph’s Hospital, ME
Winner, 100-300 beds: St. Joseph’s Hospital, NH
Winner, greater than 300 beds:  Glens Falls Hospital, NY

SUPPLYview™ Participation - Awarded to the facility that has implemented the highest percentage of savings identified through the SUPPLYview program.

Winner:  Glens Falls Hospital, NY

Participation -Awarded to the acute care facility with the highest utilization of Yankee Alliance programs and services.

Winner:  Lawrence & Memorial Hospital, CT

Ethan “Jethro” Stansbury Memorial Award - Awarded to the member who best displays the spirit of Yankee Alliance - working together with Yankee colleagues, sharing information and best practices for the greater good while attaining maximum value for their institution.

Winner:  David Teixeira, Director, Interventional Cardiology Service Line, Southcoast Health System, MA

Marit Davies Memorial Award- Awarded to the member who has exhibited innovative thinking, a passion for implementation, and leadership in the pursuit of healthcare supply chain excellence.

Winner:  Jack Henault, Director of Materials Management & Clinical Engineering,

Berkshire Health Systems, MA
